#emacs /etc/inittab.
    Comment out the line:    ca::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t3 [-h
/ -r] -now
    C-x-s    C-x-c
#telinit -q

(You can echo a warning in place of /sbin/shutdown if you want.)
