Hello, I have a RH 5.2 machine configured with IP masq, sendmail for queuing, fetchmail etc. with kppp used for dialup to the net The server is on a local network in the range 192.168.0.0 Uptil now things were working smoothly for the past 8-9 months.... Since last 3 days..... the problem is that whenever I try to connect to the net, everything goes fine and connection is also established but pppd is now taking the local IP address to be 192.168.0.1 and NOT what it shuld be assigned from the ISP (vsnl). I checked the logs and even tried to connect manually using the pppd + chat script combination from the shell but the problem is still there. So Nothing is working even after being connected. 192.168.0.1 is the IP of the eth0 interface on the machine. I checked all the network related files in /etc mainly the ppp options etc. and the ip-up scripts.... but with no idea why this is happening. I guess I would try reinstalling pppd. maybe its corrupt or something..... but first wanted to consult to you ppl.... Any ideas?
