I agree with what you say. Lyx/klyx leaves much that's desired. But my fluency in tex 
is as much as I
have in french. i.e. -0. So I am better off  lyx/klyx They do what they list in their 
menus.
Certainly far better than word.

I am creaing very simple format document like training notes and a simple linux howto. 
But I miss
word feature of having cutomized headers and bitmaps in headers etc. Sure tex can do 
that but I don't
have enough time to learn tex.

Anyway thanks for the suggestion.
