Hi Rizwan:
That's a typical Monday morning problem! Edit /etc/lilo.conf and insert
these lines below label = and root =
password = somesecret (replace 'somesecret' with a password of your
choice)
restricted
Then run lilo. Next time someone enters Linux 1, it will ask for the
password. The word 'restricted' will prevent others from looking at the
lilo.conf file.
Having done that, beware of Mondays.

Subject: [LIH] Linux Single Trouble ;)
HI,
I forgot my password yesterday, I restarted linux and went for 'Linux 1',
after that I could easily change my password. How easy, but isn't it a
security flaw? Could you please advise me on preventing unauthorized login,
and forcing password authentication on single user mode. Thanks for your
help.
Yours truly,
Rizwaan.
