Hi, I also faced similar problems when i tried installing RH6.2 However when some people suggested i went through the HOW-TOs (large disk & partitioning) some steps were clear. I presume that you have installed win95 / win2k in your primary partition. Possibly you can try these steps which i successfully did. 1. Ensure that the boot partition you are creating is in the first 650 cylinders. Roughly it will work out to placing it in the first 5 gb of the partition. 2. In case you dont have enough space in your first 5 gb use fips (available in pcq cd) to create some free space. 30 MB is enough. This is just to place the lilo and boot partition. 3. when you are in disk druid, select the boot partition and it automatically tries to allocate the free partition you created in the first 5 gb. 4. Rest of the partition like swap, and users you can create as usual and preferably you can keep it to 2 gb size sice i remember it has been mentioned in some HOW-TOs. (Basically i did not allocate more than 2 gb since i didt have space for that! So no chance for testing also). 5. If you have win2k or winNt loaded in your machine is it preferable to load lilo in your first sector of boot partition instead of Master Boot Record (MBR) since win2k and NT are more adament in having its bootloader in MBR. (This option will be asked by the installtion program at the near end) I am not too expert either. So i presume that what i have said is understandable. Hopefully the above steps should get you through. s.kannan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linux" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Linux India" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 20, 2000 3:31 PM Subject: RHL6.2 installation problem on 20 GB HDD > Hello people, > I have a new 20 GB HDD and i have a 7 GB partition for it.
