on a clients machine, telnet localhost does not work
ie, it shows until the esc char and hangs, then timeouts
and closes connection. but when telnetting from a network
node, it works okay. network is peer utp and NICs are
RTL8029 (NE 2000 PCI), Linux is Debian Potato.
on same machine, RH is also installed, but this feature
is working properly there.
on another one, through windows, the network is working
fine, but when linux is started, this one is not visible
either on windows network or on tcp/ip, i mean ping does
not get through (host unreachable). traceroute times out
shows * in all positions. ping from linux to another
machine on network will show some thing like
(100 packets sent, 5 packets received, 95% loss)
each return packet increases time by double the previous
value. NICs are RealTek 8029 (NE 2000 PCI), machines
are 233/64mb/4gb, os is RHL 6.2, Windows 98, network is
on DAX 8port hub.
Any parallel problems ?
