I dont know about the details why ur system hangz after starting some perticular
applications ... in startx.
but i thinks that your thoughts regarding UnInstalled packages without checking their
dependencies .... may be responsible for this type of error....
when you are uninstalling any package from K-Packager you have one Checkbox called
Check Dependencies ... you must checked this while you are uninstalling any package
.... so this may help you in next time but ... if you remembers the packages what you
have uninstalled try to install them back ... and then Uninstall again with checking
dependencies ....
