If you're using prebuilt binaries, you may want to get the same version
of libjpeg that qt was compiled with. There may be a couple of test
progs that come with qt that can validate that gif/jpeg are ok at the
qt level. If they turn out to be ok, your problem is most likely at
the kdegraphics level.
