Just check type of your hard drive ATA-2 require
to some kernal parameters to be specified

just when it says anaconda problem do cntl-alt-F2 cat /proc/pci (assumeing your ATA
is connected to pci bus inside for cpu inter face)

You will find some address 1400*1234 just add 2 to 1234 at the boot prompt say linux
IDE2=1400*1236 this will solve this problem

some body who know kernal internals can explain why this happens.

dont forget to add this in lilo.conf append="IDE2 ...."

please let me know the result.
