1.

First you have to create $HOME/.icewm and copy all the files from
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icewm to $HOME/.icewm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.

To convert KDE menus you will have to use python script which is there on icewm site.
I will forward that script to you privately.

give executable permissions to this script (chmod +x kde2ice) and then
from your login type the following :

python kde2ice > menu.kde
(Note : python should be present on the system. If it is not installed, install it
from the CD )

Insert the contents of menu.kde in $HOME/.icewm/menu file. This file contains icewm
menu and after adding the contents of menu.kde you will get the KDE menu too. :-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.

Put the following in your $HOME/.xinitrc file :

icewm

My .xinitrc file contains the following :

kfm &
icewm

This starts KDE file manager and than the icewm Window Manager. I am using KDE File
Manager in icewm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.

One more thing. Run icepref and Put the paths to icon files in the paths.

My paths are as follows (since I am using SuSE 6.3 linux)
/opt/kde/share/icons/mini:/usr/share/icons:/opt/gnome/share/pixmaps:/usr/X11R6/include/X11/pixmaps:/opt/kde/share/icons

If you are using redhat than put

/usr/share/icons;/usr/share/icons/mini here.

After doing this save and restart icepref and now you will get all the icons in the
kde menu.

After you are successful in this do let me know if you want any themes. On
icewm.themes.org most of the themes are without background pic. I have downloaded some
good themes and added background pic to it and created my own themes. If you want I
can forward some of them to you.

You have to extract the contents of tar.gz file in $HOME/.icewm/themes directory and
use icepref to apply the themes.

There is another tool for IceWM called IceMe. Have a look at the utilities section on
the IceWM site www.icewm.org

You are totally wrong on this. Think again.

Hope this helps. In case of any problems get back to the list. There are people who
are using IceWM and will be able to help you.

Regards
