I agree. You can, I expect, install something like lotus notes or exchange
locally, front-ending the notes / exchange machine with something like
sendmail / qmail on linux. Far safer, and the groupware in exchange is also
snoopware if you want to configure it that way, to monitor any mails you need
to.
However, make it clear UP FRONT to employees that their mail will be read for
official reasons.
