Hi,

I recompiled the kernel from the sources on Red Hat 6.2 with RARP server support,
since the kernel distributed with Red Hat 6.2 does not have RARP support which we
require here. I copied the new kernel & the new system.map to /boot and than created
the link System.map to point to this new system.map file. Added an entry to LILO.

Now when I reboot the kernel it gives me the following error :

-----------------------------------------------------------

Loading ncr53c8xx module
/lib/ncr53c8xx.o:unresolved symbol best_memcpy_Ra0b82c11
/lib/ncr53c8xx.o:unresolved symbol best_memcpy_R3e04c7a1

Loading raid1 module
/lib/raid1.o:unresolved symbol best_memcpy_Ra0b82c11
/lib/raid1.o:unresolved symbol best_memcpy_R3e04c7a1

Bad md_map in ll_rew_block
Kernel panic:VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 06:03

-----------------------------------------------------------

Thinking that the new kernel looks for modules in /lib I tried copying the above two
modules to /lib but still it gives the same error.

The original Red Hat 6.2 kernel boots fine. No problems.

Can anybody help me out on this ? Why the above error is coming ?

Thanks in advance.

Rajesh
