Please confirm whether u r booting into run level 5. If that be the case
then your X is not configured properly. Therefore, boot to runlevel 3, do
your X configurations. If you suspect your hard disk to be giving problems,
mebbe u could try doing an init 1 and check out your /etc/fstab is proper
and in accordance with the partitions you had created.
