[LIH] wget -c

Hello 
  this is wierd. The -c ie the continue option does not seem to be working
for the wget-1.5.3 provided with RHL6.2.
  I was downloading a file through a slow ftp server, so i killed it and
wanted to continue from a faster one, but its staring from  0K ( zero
Kb) all over again. 
  Anyone faced this
