Hi shubhendu,
in the most of the cases, it is harm less. The cookies are meant for
storing some information about ur web site usage. For example, when u
visit mail.yahoo.com to check ur yahoo account, it dump some cookies to
storethe login name. Hence, in the next visit, the server use those data
fo the customised presentation. Some of the cookie are proprietory such as
amazon.com's cookies. This is used for user level preference indexing.
