Hi!

It takes me a very long time to get connected to DOT dial up line in Hyderabad.
The responses from the server differ and I am not sure if the chat script is
able to accept these responses. For example, the "username :" prompt is
sometimes in caps and sometimes only the leading U is capitalized. This
morning I saw (through minicom) on one ocassion it showed a space after the :
(colon) and on another ocassion there was no space although after the
"password:", there is always a space.

Does the chat script look for these leading spaces? Is the chat script case
sensitive?

I also keep getting the following two errors in the /var/log/messages (even
when I am able to get connected):

        failed in mg_init_data, dev-ttyS1, pid 7304
init chat failed, exiting...: Interrupted by System call

What do these mean? How do I get rid of them (if they are indeed causing a
problem)

Christopher Vasanth
