Hello,
I was under the impression that X-windows with Mandrake 7.2 will work
without any problems on an Intel 810 chipset. While the install program
runs in gui mode, once the install is complete, if you type startx,
Xwindows does not run. Xconfigurator only allows us to determine the
resolution and colour depth. There is no probing as in the case in
Redhat. I wish I could tell you what kind of error message I was
getting, but my friend on whose machine the install was taking place
typed rm -rf in the root directory.
Any ideas ? Is there any way I can get some sort of Xwindows running ?
If I plug in a PCI video adapter card, will it disable the onboard
display ?
