Dear ILUG members,
I have got a Specialix SX+ PCI card with 2 TA adapter (8 ports each) and
want to use 16 telephone lines for dialin on my Redhat 6.2 server. I have
done the following:
1. I have installed the card driver - Kernel 2.2.16 has sx module which is
inserted by modprobe sx and shows by lsmod
2. A utility from Vendor site gave a binary "sxboot" which initializes the
card and says one board with 16 ports OK.
3. I created entries in /dev for ttyXx and cuxx with the script given in
/usr/src/linuc/Documentation/sx.txt.
4. Installed pppd and mgetty as per PCQuest guidelines (oct, 1998 issue) -
this works fine for ttyS0 and ttyS1 ports being used at present.
Now the problem:
when I dial to a modem attached to the card - it gives the familiar beep but
does not connect -
The error in /var/log/messages is:
Nov 29 16:01:04 hau kernel: gs: Odd: port->tty is NULL
Nov 29 16:01:10 hau kernel: sx: Sent reconfigure command, but card didn't
react.

THE FIRST FOUR LINES ALSO APPEAR ON THE TERMINAL.
What's wrong where? any idea
