Try this
At the boot prompt
boot : linux single root=/dev/hda2 initrd=
---------
---------
then You'll get bash shell
Just see in the /boot partition if boot.0300 file exits.
if yes
# dd if=/boot/boot.0300 of=/dev/hda bs=446 count=1
# /sbin/lilo
#reboot
