Hi,
seem to have worked it out. kljettool creates a print job having the PJL
headers ( Printer Job Language) which sets the required parameters like

^[%-12345X@PJL // this is the init escape sequence
@PJL JOB NAME = "default job"
@PJL DEFAULT Density = light
@PJL DEFAULT Resolution = 600
:
@PJL EOJ NAME= "end profile"
^[%-12345X // this is a bit strange....initialising again,
// shouldnt this spoil all the work when the actual
// file comes.
----------------------
so that for the next job these changes apply
