Hi folks,
I'm having a 128kbps ISDN External modem connected to ttys0
(COM1). I'm using RH6.2 and "kudzu" dectected the modem and configured
properly. Phone line , I've plugged into the PHONE1 socket of the modem.
Power is on. I installed ppp and wvdial.
I did
# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
Made changes in wvdial.conf for Phone No: , Username and Password.
But after starting wvdial it's not dectecting the carrier.
For dialing out I've to dial '0' for getting the dialtone. I don't know
where I've to specify that in wvdial. I tried giving it along with the
phone no: in wvdial.conf. But the result is same. I've seen in Windows,
like , in Dialup properties one option is there to specify the number
which has to be dialed before make the connection, where I gave 0. Then
too fo both windows and Linux I couldn't connect. For ISDN modems is the
connections different ? Is any other external device is required for
setting the whole thing up ?
I'm a newbie to this field . Please help !!!
regards
Vinoos.
