sorry about the subject line. I had deleted the original thread and had to
concoct this. Ok this is what man page says
-l, --limit
(Keyword: limit) Takes a maximum octet size argu-
ment. Messages larger than this size will not be
fetched, not be marked seen, and will be left on
the server......
also there are other restrictions one can apply namlely on the the number
of mails downloaded etc. These are set by the options "-b" and "-B"
