u can try recreating the partions using the linux fdisk util
as follows.
get a partition table listing by issuing fdisk -l /dev/hda
note down all the start and end cylinders
delete the last one (go ahead do it)
create an extended partition with all of your disk space (9GB i assume)
create hda5 (logical) with start and end same as partition 4, change the type
to fat 32
create hda6 (logical) with the rest 3gb, type 83 (linux native)
write the partition table
DO NOT FORMAT /dev/hda5 IT CONTAINS UR OLD 'D DRIVE' AS WIN$ SEES
format /dev/hda6 (mke2fs -c -i 1024 /dev/hda6)
create mount point
add entry to /etc/fstab
u shud be ok
unless u have W2K in the remapped partition.
in that case u may need to edit the c:\boot.ini,
need a reference to ms support.
