i went thru the howto (but the link is http://member.eth.net/73/jthoma). but it is
redhat specific. i am using debian potato (kernel 2.2.17). i have installed mgetty.
when i try to configure the /etc/ppp/option.ttyS1 my pppd is giving error.
(/usr/sbin/pppd: bad local IP address 127.0.0.1) .how to set this. now i commented all
the config files and dial out is working as before. now if a call comes my modem is
responding. pls. help me to solve the problem.
