Hello All,
Iam new to this list and looking for some help.
Let me explain my scenario:
My Original Mail server (Remote) - xyz.com
My Local Mail Server - abc.com
Our mail ID's are [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The users are spread in many locations like location1,
location2 etc.
Currently all the mails for location1 users are going
to xyz.com. Thay are fetched
manually and distributed locally.
I want to set up a local mailserver (abc.com) in my
location, to handle mails addressed
to locall users in location1 instead of fetching from
xyz.com.
I have created local users in abc.com for all users
belonging to location1.
xyz.com being the oficial domain name all the outgoing
mail ID's are masqueraded as xyz.com.
Any local user [EMAIL PROTECTED] sending mails to another
local user [EMAIL PROTECTED] has to go to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
I have done some settings, which is not working for
me.
My System Configuration -RedHat Linux 6.2 with
Sendmail 8.9.3
My Sendmail Settings:
In sendmail.cf file
DSbgl.vsnl.net.in
DMxyz.com
I have created virtusertable which reads:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Please let me know if my settings are correct. And
also how to set this up.
Currently, this works for local users (lu1, lu2 etc)
but unable to send mail to remote users
([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Also do let me know if any DNS configuration is
required. I have currently added an entry for xyz.com
in /etc/hosts which reads
local-ip abc.com
remote-ip xyz.com
Without the remote-ip entry in /etc/hosts, I get an
lookup error (Nameserver lookup deferred).
Thanks in advance for any help
