hi
this happens when the the kernel headers are not installed. what i would suggest is
that you install kernel-source package. that would install the headers .

make sure at there is a sym link to the installed kernel-source package in the
/usr/src direc.

there can more refined methods to do this.

Subject: [LIH] ALSA Creative SB Live!

Hi everyone!

I downloaded the latest ALSA drivers (0.5.10) and I wanna install my
Creative SB Live! Platinum card on RHL 7.0 . However, everytime I
./configure it, it gives the error "Checking for version... error! (Possible
reason: Can't find /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h)" I located
something called version.h.in in the ALSA include directory, made the above
directory, renamed it and copied it there but it still doesn't work.. What
do I do?

TIA,

Amit
