Hi Biju,

I don't know about the lower end drives like 4x write since never used it.
I have got hp 9100 cd-writer (32xread and 8x write with 4MB buffer ). I can
burn a CD-R at 8x speed in 10 minutes. However if I try to burn on a CD-RW
by giving speed=8 cdrecord is taking the speed as 4x and writes CD-RW at 4x
speed and hence for writing CD-RW it takes 20 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Rajesh
