Mind telling us what MailMan does? I am not familiar with that software. I
know qpopper is a POP3 daemon, but don't have any inside info. Does it
support Maildirs?

You need a web based solution to allow users to change passwords
just like passwd(1). I am sure there are a bunch of such packages at
freshmeat.net. Writing one of those is very easy, in case you don't
find one. Your setup is different, and I'd say you want to look at
the virtual host patch to wu-imapd, called 'phall virtual patch'. Or
try Cyrus IMAPd (best).
