Hi,
SIS is worse than greek to me, but the "10 min" does look familiar.
The default screen saver timing is 600sec. I hope that its not getting
fired, check with xset. If you find an entry their keep "xset -s 0" in
your .xsession, .xclients or whatever you are using to start your
xsession.
I hear that once the display is removed ( changing to virtual console)
sis cards are unable to redraw ( or is it XFree876 4.0 ), so may be a
screensaver could have the same problem. Moreover the screensaver have an
option by which X keeps the the last displayed frame in memory even when
its not on display. This is for cases where clients are unable to redraw.
Check if enabling that helps.
