I have sent this message last Saturday, but it seems to have disappeared completely. Forgive me if you get it twice. I have a Squid caching server installed as a transparent proxy. It does cache objects but for some unknown reason, it doesn't honor the Last modified headers sent by a webserver (which should over-ride cache contents). Telnetting directly to port 80 and asking for a page gives the Last Modified date, and through the browser, I get a different Last modified date (an earlier one). Does anyone have any ideas about what could cause this? And a fix, of course. I'll post my squid.conf here if required.
