you did not specify exactly what's bad about the quality, if thats
blocky colours then increase the color depth. Run atleast at 16 bit color
depth. Often there's some miniscule mismatch in the monitor horizontal and
vertical frequencies leading to flicker ( but shouldnt be a problem with
the new monitors which accept frequency ranges ).
so you have to play with your XF86Config, some of the tools you can use
are xvidtune, XF86Setup, xf86config.
