May I know the reason why u want to remove .
The /dev files occupy only a mere few KBs may be more.If
u are porting on to embedded platform then
1./dev/console,/dev/tty*,(for vga)
2./dev/pty*(for telnet)
3./dev/hda*(for IDE HDD)
4./dev/fd*(floppy)
5./dev/lpt*(Printer)
u need only these ,may be but if u r using any special block devices or
if u using any block devices ?
