Hi
When I saw web server performance I could not resist it.
Yesterdays linux today carries a news from IBM which has performed
benchmarking with kernel 2.2.14 and 2.4.
It's found that zeus(Known to be faster than Apache) performs 85% better with
same setup than kernel 2.2.14. And testing as not marked as final as network
was saturated. So it couldn't be determined that whether server has reached
it's maximum potential. The testing is going to continue soon.
Kernel 2.4 has shown tremendeous improvement in SMP areas as well as network
stack. However profiling shows that scheduler and SMP support have plenty to
be done for performance.

P.S. Thaths, IIRC, the post statistics are no longer published. Could you
