Hi people

Its me again. I downloaded the alsa-project driver
alsa-driver-0.5.10b.tar.bz2 and all the available documentation.
I have RHL with kernel 2.2.14-12. I have a Yamaha PCI 724 sound card. I did
./configure --with-isapnp=no --with-debug=full --with-oss=no
make
make install

I modified my /etc/conf.modules to add this line

# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd

I used lsmod and the modules were listed. I tried xmms but says unable to
access /dev/dsp. But, there IS a /dev/dsp symlink.

Can anyone who has configured this card on RHL 6.2 PLEASE give me list of
instructions to follow? I am new to linux, only been around for a few
months, but I am ready to take up this challenge. Can anyone help me please!

Please do not point me back to alsa-project site...I've tried it!

Regards
Sridhar Ranganathan
