Let's start with this..
Download the latest alsa driver from www.alsa-project.org.
pls treat X as the version of the alsa driver that you downloaded.
tar -xzvf alsa-driverX
cd alsa-driverX
./configure --with-card=ymfpci
make
make install
./snddevices
I guess you shud be able to get it working with this.
Also note that the sound is muted by default.
