i typed the commands exactly as Archan said:
mkdir -p /usr/X11R6/lib/fonts/tamil
then
xset fp+ /usr/X11R6/lib/fonts/tamil
then typed:
xlsfonts
to which i got:
X Error of failed request: 86
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X-SetFontPath)
Serial number of failed request: 9
Current serial number in output stream: 11
what can be done now? i've also downloaded KFontInst from freshmeat, tarred and
gzipped format. but i must check if there are any details about where and
how it should be installed. i just took a peek and found some 30 files in the tar.gz
file...
