A default install (rpm, tarball, whatever) of sendmail _will_ deliver to any
local addresses (such as [EMAIL PROTECTED]) without any further setup
or configuration required.

There's some other problem here.

/var/spool/mail, /var/mail are the two most common places for mail to be
stored. If there's a .forward or something similar set up (which I doubt is
the case - you'd surely know if you'd set one up) the stuff will land in your
local mailbox in your homedir (or elsewhere, as per your settings).

Tell you what, Pradeep - are you in Bangalore? If so, mail me your address,
I'll try to come over during the weekend if you are anywhere near Indira Nagar
/ MG Road.
