Use '> ' for quoting and not something like '$' just because you love to
have lots of it.

Some folks also use HTML content and proudly proclaim their stuff is in
red and others' stuff is in blue.

See what most people on LI-* do.  Quote relevant parts of the mail and
interleave your comments like this.
