I downloaded the recently released kernel 2.4. I compiled it to get a
bzImage, and booted through it. but I am unable to start X server, the error
is "no agpgart device" . I even tried the XFCom .. given in this months pcq.
But, the rpm --rebuild command , gives an error and exits abnormally. But I
am able to do it perfectly with my current kernel 2.2.16-3, upgraded from
2.2.14. That upgradation was done using the binary of 2.2.16-3, with just a
rpm -ivh command.
I had even downloaded the 2.2.16-3 sources and compiled it, made a
bzImage, and booted through the new kernel, But with that too, I am unable
to get X server running. What could be the problem? Kindly help.
