Many kind of attachments use application/octet-stream, not just word
documents. Even tar.gz files are sent as application/octet-stream.
A better choice would be application/msword (or whatever - send
yourself a word document and figure it out).
A far better choice for word documents would be:
application/msword; cat '%s' > /dev/null; copiousoutput;
