If you have the older SGI machines (Indy, etc) you can definitely run
Linux on them today.  I know that there are (were?) porting efforts
underway for the newer ones (O2/Octane/Origin/Onyx series), but have
no clue as to their status.  Let me know if you find some updates on
that project.
