I suppose you've made a keypair so that ssh doesn't need a password.

Then you can script it like this:

export RSYNC_RSH=ssh
rsync [EMAIL PROTECTED]:mail.bz2 .
        #(why don't you just use scp instead):
        #scp [EMAIL PROTECTED]:mail.bz2 .
ssh [EMAIL PROTECTED] rm mail.bz2

Remember - ssh can accept a commandline to run after the hostname, so
you can do what you want on the remote server, without interaction.
