First thing: get the rpms only from your distribution. eg I always
use rpms from mandrake cooker to upgrade and not the redhat rpms.
(This applies to KDE and only kde) use
rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps kde*.rpm
rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps qt*.rpm
The reason for doing this is that kde is a completely different
package and will generally not depend on other library versions. (It might
depend but shuould not be version specific)
however there is very strong dependence among the kde rpms.
