first do this:
chmod u+x *antiword
then try ./kantiword
better move the binaries to someplace else like /usr/local/bin and then try running 
them as a normal user.

if it's a problem untarring the archive try this
tar xzvf ttnews.tar.gz
(I haven't used ttnews so can't help help after that, but maybe there will be a file 
called INSTALL in the ttnews directory which is formed)
