During the RH installation, there would have been many options regarding
selection
of mouse and keyboard types. May be you chose the wrong one. Why don't you
try reinstalling
with another option for the mouse device?(I used to reinstall during my
first days
with Linux when encountering problems
that could not be solved by myself. A reinstall always had a solution.
