hi,
Ftp is designed for remote filetransfers over slower wan links.and NFS is
designed for faster localnetwork and is a fileserver.ftp is not a
fileserver.Also factors like tcp window size also affect the rate of
transfer.FTP will have a lower tcp window size.i.e.,nfs ,smb etc will have a
larger transfer buffer as with FTP.
