Just to the following to create the iso file :

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=redhat_disk1.iso

than burn this redhat_disk1.iso using cdrecord. 
man cdrecord for further options. or use any front end like xcdroast.

Yes. The recorded CD will boot too. I have done it and works fine for me.
