I have configured my Linux RH6.1 with kernel 2.2.12-60
for providing Remote Logins thru multiple modems as
per
article "Remote Logins" by Vivek Kumar and Atul
Chitnis of Mar 1999 issue of PC-Quest.
The modems are cofigured for different IP addresses
and
connected on COM1 and COM2 (/etc/ppp/options.ttyS0 and
/etc/ppp/options.ttyS1)
When these two modems are simultanously logged in
successfuly it is noticed that both the remote users
are assigned with same IP address. While the first
logged in remote user can browse internet without any
problem, the second remote user fails to browse the
internet which may be due to assignment of same
IP.
Pl suggest to allow assignment of different IP
addresses to the remote users for accessing net.
Thanks.
