There has been a lot of discussion on configuring X Windows (and audio
too) on Intel 810 chipset based systems. I had installed RHL 7.0 on an
810 chipset based system and had configured X Windows for a resolution
of 800 x 600. The shortcomings have been:
1. It's not possible to shift to Virtual Terminals by pressing the
Ctrl-Alt-Fn keys.
2. It's not possible to cycle between different resolutions using
Ctrl-Alt-(+/-) keys. If you configure X for multiple resolutions, you
end up cycling between varying sceen sizes rather than resolutions.
3. One can't start multiple X sessions.
Has anyone been able to work around any of these problems on RHL 7 or is
there a fix available now? I am not so concerned about the last two but
the first one is critical.
TIA,
Manish
