Guess what was the problem :-)

The permissions by default on debian for lprng are ok.

There are no printer filters distributed with lprng package nor
could I find any deb for the filters with debian. I converted the
Red Hat rpm rhs-printfilters to deb using alien and than

dpkg -i rhs-printfilters

Now my HP Deskject 610C works like a charm. No Problems. There
should have been printer filters distributed with debian too ??

Thanks Vijay, Sreangsu for all the help.

Regards

Rajesh
